After gaining my doctorate from Oxford University I embarked on a career in high technology companies which has included substantial experience of software engineering, marketing and senior management. I have been involved with international distribution and marketing for almost all my working life and this has helped me establish many contacts world-wide - in the United States, Europe, Japan, Australasia and South East Asia. I established Quaymedia in 1998 to help software developers address new opportunities in marketing their products worldwide.

Prior to QuayMedia, I have gained experience at both ends of the vendor spectrum - at a large company, Linotype, in software engineering, marketing and on the board of directors; and from 1994-1997 as Managing Director of SoftPress Systems, a software start-up developing DTP and Web design products for the Mac.

The SoftPress team went on to develop two award-winning Web design and DTP products - Freeway and UniQorn. Besides overall responsibility for the company, my day-to-day responsibilities included world-wide sales and marketing activities and included:

* Successful international PR programs which produced world-wide coverage of the company’s products and product reviews in over 20 countries in Europe, America, Asia and Australasia.
* Early use of the Internet in 1995 to promote and sell the company’s software products from the Web site world-wide.
* Development of international sales and marketing channels to complement on-line sales.

I'm delighted to report that the last three years have seen QuayMedia establish a successful track record with over ten clients including Active Concepts, Xerox UK, Electrifier Inc., Mercury Software and SoftPress Systems.
